The Golden Age
The 2026 AA Ringette Alberta Provincial Championships hosted by Edmonton Ringette Club showcased the province’s best ringette talent from U14AA, U16AA, and U19AA divisions.
Zone 2 U16AA blaze teams showed strong compete and resilience throughout the weekend in one the most talented and competitive seasons in recent history. The team battled in several tight matchups, including a narrow 3-2 contest against Central Alberta, the tournament champions.
At the U14AA level, the Zone 2 AA Blaze captured the Provincial Championship title. With disciplined team play, relentless work ethic, and composure in key moments, they earned the banner and the honour of representing Alberta as Team Alberta at the upcoming Western Canadian Ringette Championships held in Saskatoon March 18 to 23, 2026.
The success continued at U19AA, where Zone 2 AA Blaze claimed the Provincial Championship with a 7-3 victory in the gold medal game. In an incredibly tight provincial race leading into finals, the team rose to the occasion with leadership, depth, and clutch performances to secure the title. The U19AA team will now represent Alberta as Team Alberta at the 2026 Canadian Ringette Championships in Ottawa March 28 to April 4, 2026.
