U19AAs take BRONZE at the Edmonton Woods Tournament

November 22 - 24th!!!

U19AA Blaze capture the GOLD at the Guelph Ringette Tournament February 6 - 9th!!!!

At the U19AA level, players span a three year age, for Blaze our 15 athletes consisted of seven 1st years, seven 2nd years, and finally only 1 3rd year player - with a young team at this division our girls had to work hard!  Along with fundraising socials, bottle drives, sales of apples, sausages, dryland training, team building, and our Northern Black Gold League Games, we managed to fit in the Calgary Ring it on Tournament in September, the Woods Tournament in November and Central Tournament in December.

The big trip of the season was Guelph in February featuring teams from New Brunswick, Manitoba, Quebec, and Ontario.  After a 9-2 loss in game one to New Brunswick the team fought their way into the playoffs and got redemption with a 7-3 victory in the final over New Brunswick.  The team place 5th at Provincials in March, highlighted by a convincing victory over the number one ranked Edmonton team in the final game.  This victory was made possible by one of the loudest cheering squads in Zone 2 history.

Some of the other  season highlights were our Christmas Zone 2 dinner in Lacombe at the Central tournament, the support and caring that each of our athletes showed for each other throughout the season and finally the support that all 3 Zone teams showed for each other both on and off the ice.

Though we were busy, we ensured our strong focus and support of the athletes other life priorities which includes school, their jobs, and their families.  Finally, a shout out to our parent group, who were outstanding and without those committed individuals we would not have been successful.  We look forward to the 2020/2021 season.
